A poem a day for December, Poem 22

Sanctification

What kind of adventure
are we having today, Father?
A heart racing test
of patience in the checkout line?
A soul searching test
of loneliness in the late afternoon?
A test of will power
as I walk by those cookies 3 dozens times?
A quiet test,
to see if I’ll sit and read, like I said I would?
A test of peace,
can I hear your heart in the midst of busy and hectic?
Remind me that it’s not pass or fail,
it’s just training
and adventure
and life.

“Can I hear your heart…” What a beautiful way to put it. 😉
