After rain

dripping wet drops
from last night’s shower
splash down
on me
tickling
my skin
meandering
down my neck stooping
under branches
hanging lower
than I judged

***

a puddle forms
shiny on wooden boards
reflecting deep
a cloudless morning sky

***

sea shells
on my deck
upturned
collecting rain –
suburban shipwreck

***

water pixels
on the window screen
the pattern
of last night’s shower
